The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) is a global alliance of individuals and organizations dedicated to building a world of peace in which we live in freedom, harmony, cooperation and co-prosperity for all. The UPF is guided by a vision of humanity as one global family of God, living in accordance with universal principles

The UPF's core objectives are to promote:

Dr. and Mrs. Moon with President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo
Dr. and Mrs. Moon are welcomed to the Philippines by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

  • Partnerships among governments, religions and civil society fostering development grounded in universal values
  • A culture of peace through education, sports, arts, media and service
  • A framework for interreligious cooperation
  • Conflict prevention and resolution
  • Strong, loving family life as a personal contribution to peace
  • Character education over the course of life
    HIV/AIDS prevention
  • Humanitarian relief partnerships

The Middle East Peace Initiative brings the Ambassadors for Peace to Israel, Palestine and Jordan to promote understanding and reconciliation among people of the Abrahamic faiths. They visit homes and places of work, worship and government, and participate in dialogues, interfaith gatherings and service projects.

The North East Asia Peace Initiative is promoting reconciliation in the Korean Peninsula through humanitarian relief, personal encounters, joint business ventures and cultural exchanges.

The Bering Strait Tunnel is a vision bridging the divides of race, religion and nation. It will stimulate communication, free trade, cultural exchange, and global community.

Marriages and Families of Lasting Peace as a means to reconcile families and nations with a history of division.

The First UPF Peace Tour of 120 nations took place in 2005. Rev. Sun Myung Moon and Mrs. Hak Ja Han Moon spoke in 100 cities in 67 nations. The 2006 Tour visited 180 nations.

The Ambassadors for Peace are building a global network of leaders representing the religious, racial and ethnic diversity of the human family, and all disciplines of human endeavor.

Ambassadors for Peace serve on the national, regional and global peace councils. They stand on the common ground of shared values, promoting reconciliation, overcoming barriers, and building peace.

“Dialogue and engagement are the only possible way to succeed, however impossible it may seem, and the Universal Peace Federation is providing the way to start that conversation.”
Dr. Abdulijalil Sajid, Chair, Muslim Council for Religious and Racial Harmony, London, England

“We are changing the global conversation about how nations work together beyond the traditional channels.”
Sir James Mancham, Founding President, Seychelles
Chair, UPF Presiding Council

“We do not seek peace with ammunitions and weapons any more, thanks to Father and Mother Moon’s philosophy of peace.”

Hussein Aideed, Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia

“This message is an exciting model for our youth and it can help change the future of our region.”
Sir Peter Tapsell, Speaker, New Zealand House of Representatives 1993-1996

“The deep problem is that people use religion wrongly in pursuit of victory and triumph. For this reason Rev. Moon’s call for peace through religion is something of great nuance and profundity.”
Abdurrahman Wahid
President of Indonesia, 1999-2001

“The time has come for the countries of the world
to pool their resources and advance toward
the kingdom of the peaceful ideal world desired by God.”

Dr. & Mrs. Sun Myung Moon, Founders
