Peace Initiatives
The Universal Peace Federation carries out peace initiatives in
areas such as the Middle East, Northeast Asia, and South
Asia, applying its methodology of reconciliation and
service.
Human Development
With a comprehensive vision of human development that
includes the individual, the family the community, the
nation and the world, the Universal Peace Federation promotes
development with a focus on education, literacy, marriage
and family, service programs, character education, and
economic and business development.
Leadership and Good Governance
The Universal Peace Federation carries out
a wide range of programs to promote effective, principled
leadership and governance within families, businesses,
governments, religions, educational institutions and
NGOs.
Initiative for an Interreligious
Council at the United Nations
Since 1999 an
effort has been made to develop an interreligious council
as an organ within the United Nations system, as a way
to strengthen the United Nations and make it more effective
in carrying out its mission.
World Peace Blessing
The Universal Peace Federation sponsors programs that establish
and strengthen marriage and family as the foundation
of peace, affirming those who marry across racial, religious
and national boundaries (exchange marriage).
Sports for Peace
The Universal Peace Federation promotes and sponsors sporting
events and competitions that contribute to peace. These
include the Interreligious Peace Sports Festival, Play
Soccer Make Peace, and the Sun Moon Peace Cup football
tournament.
Arts and Culture
The Universal Peace
Federation promotes and sponsors cultural programs and
the arts as instruments of peace, for example, through
the Artists Association International.
Media
The Universal Peace
Federation promotes programs that bring together media
professionals and journalists to explore ways to contribute
to peace. In addition, the Universal Peace Federation promotes
a wide range of “peace media” initiative
such as “Voices of Peace TV” and “World
& I: Innovative Approaches to Peace.”
Education
The Universal Peace
Federation provides educational programs for all major
sectors of society, including religious leaders, political
leaders, the media, academics, jurists, business leaders,
etc., introducing the ideals of God-centeredness and practices
that contribute to peace and freedom.
Service Programs
The Universal Peace Federation carries out service projects for
peace, applying the principle of living for the sake
of others
