Interfaith Assembly 2010 proceedings.
Seoul, Korea - The UPF Interfaith Assembly opened in Seoul Oct. 9, 2010 at the Cheon Bok Gung, the Unification community’s inspiring new sanctuary in Seoul, with a moving ceremony of prayers and readings from seven faith traditions.
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you here to the Cheon Bok Gung. This sanctuary is dedicated to the vision and wisdom of Almighty God, who leads us toward peace according to divine providence. This providence has been served through all the world’s great religions and faith traditions and can only be consummated or realized by all of them working in concert.

Can religion and religious leaders contribute to disarmament? You have all heard the quote, “Nations shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.” It can be found in one of the oldest religious books.
Seoul, Korea - As the world moves closer to the 21st century’s second decade, the goal of world peace seems as elusive as ever. With significant differences in beliefs and practices, not to mention language and culture, religion can seem to be a force for division, but delegates from 84 nations to the International Leadership Conference resolved to put aside religious differences in search of deeper unity. Seoul, Korea - Over 3,000 leaders of Korean society and nearly 200 dignitaries from overseas gathered at the COEX center to celebrate the publication of the autobiographical memoir of one of Korea’s best-known and most controversial citizens, the Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon.
The alliance between the US and the Republic of Korea (ROK) remains one of the most underrated alliances in the history of international relations today. When the alliance was first formed in 1953, there was no preceding history of interaction (aside from minor commercial exchanges and missionary activities in the 1800s) and no common values as a frame of reference.
Seoul, South Korea - Can Korea ever be reunited? That was the urgent question posed separately to a crowd of tens of thousands at the Global Peace Festival in Seoul’s Yoido Plaza, and to a smaller but highly placed group of more than 600 people at the Korean National Assembly.
