Chitwan, Nepal - Gen. Shailendra Khanal attended the Asian Peace and Unity Corps that was inaugurated in Thailand on Dec. 13, 2013 and an educational program about principles of peace that followed. The deputy inspector general of the Armed Police Force of Nepal liked the education so well that when UPF-Asia Regional Chair Dr. Chung Sik Yong came to Nepal in January and visited the Armed Police Force headquarters, Gen. Khanal asked him to come back and teach principles of peacebuilding to those under his command. This took place just outside of Chitwan on Nov. 4, 2014.
Dr. Yong spoke about the relationship between filial piety and patriotism and UPF-Asia Education Director Dr. Robert S. Kittel gave a presentation highlighting the importance of mind-body unity as well as purity of relations between men and women. They were invited to return for another presentation.
