YSP-Congo Discusses Women in Leadership

Congo Brazzaville—Youth and Students for Peace (YSP) continues to advance and make efforts in various points attracting the attention of all. In this perspective, its Congo Brazzaville chapter held its first edition of a “Responsibility Forum” on Friday April 02, 2021, on the theme: "Female Leadership: For an Egalitarian Future in the World of Covid-19." The theme was meant to honor UN International Women’s Day. It was attended by 58 people who followed virtually via Zoom and Facebook.
Related to this theme, various subthemes were discussed and developed by four panelists. This forum aimed to encourage women in leadership and responsibility in order to be a model.
The emcee, Secretary General of YSP-Congo Yannick Kasongo presented the program and introduced a prayer to start. It was followed by a musical presentation. Then the floor is given to the President of YSP-Congo Yvan Loko for words of welcome: "We are thankful for the effective participation of the panelists and declare open the first edition of the Responsibility Forum." In addition, a video of the UN Women Forum was broadcast to show how often women have been in the vanguard during the difficult time of Covid-19.
The first panelist, Mrs. Pétronie Bayissa (Vice President, Women’s Federation for World Peace-Congo Brazzaville), spoke on the subtheme "The 21st Century and the Mission of Women." It is appropriate to remember that the time has come for women to put themselves on the front line to change the direction of this world for love., Thus it is time for women to uset their capacity, their energy, their knowledge together to build a better world where justice and peace reign.
Continuing the momentum was the second panelist, Mrs. Bernadette Fogue, who is an HR manager and formerly the president of the WHO Staff Association in the African region (2008–2019) and the president of the International Federation of Staff for the United Nations in the same period. She spoke on the subtopic "Leadership in women. What specificity?" In relation to its presentation, we retain that in view of the development of our current society, it will undoubtedly be a new model of leadership that integrates intelligence and talent.
The theme of "The Involvement of Women and Beyond: Female Leadership for the Achievement of the 17 SDGs" was addressed by Mrs. Sabine Devlieger, who is the director of the International Center for Research, Training, Coaching and Accompaniment for the international NGO Peace and Benevolence in Action, as well as an international member of the World Kindness Movement.
The last panelist was Mrs. Carine Bintou Moudiongui, President of the NGO Occaris Santé and Vice-President of YSP Congo, who presented on the theme: "The Family Institution as a Manifestation of Female Leadership." This was followed by questions and answers.
To conclude, Mr. Loko thanked the participants and the panelists, and Emcee Kasongo announced the end of the forum.
