J. Raj: Address to World Summit 2022, Session VI

Address to World Summit
February 11-13, 2022

First of all, I wish to thank the organizing committee of the World Summit 2022 for inviting me to be part of this great convention that promotes peace and unity between nations and exalts people to work for peace and harmony. Jesus himself invites us to [this work] in the gospel of Mathew, chapter 5 verse 9, “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God.” Therefore, I extend great appreciation to the UPF founder and host, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, and Co-Chairs H.E. Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and H.E. Ban Ki-moon, the former Secretary-General of the United Nations for convening the World Summit 2022 and addressing the important theme of reconciliation and peace on the Korean Peninsula. Building world peace is especially important during a time when international relations are strained and there are threats on a variety of levels including the pandemic, conflict between nations, climate change, poverty, family breakdown, etc.

Peace on the Korean Peninsula is of great importance. If we can achieve peace on the Korean Peninsula, it will give hope that peace can be established globally. The steps we take to create a breakthrough for peace on the Korean Peninsula can be emulated by other nations. The situation on the Korean Peninsula is also complicated by geopolitical competition among superpowers. Not only during the 20th century’s Cold War but even today we must work toward building trust, mutual respect, reconciliation, and cooperation.

Many congratulations to you and I call you sons of God as you are working as instruments of peace. I pray for a successful World Summit 2022. May God bless your organization and all the efforts in bringing about unification between the two great North and South Korean Nations. May God bless you all.
