It is a very meaningful day. I would first like to express my deepest gratitude and congratulations to Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen, the recipient of the Founder’s Special Honorary Award. Please give him another big round of applause. Also, under the theme of vaccine equity, we [are honoring] Dr. Sarah Gilbert and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance for their accomplishments and efforts in vaccine development. Please give them a big round of applause.
I am deeply honored to be here with you today. Today, as Prime Minister Sen receives the honorary award, his biography was published. I would like to talk about his biography, titled, “The Vision of Prime Minister Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia”.
Distinguished guests, excellencies,
Together with relevant publication companies, we worked to publish a biography of Prime Minister Sen which conveys his vision as prime minister. I am very honored to have this opportunity to let you know of this biography, done with the Asian Vision Institute and various scholars and researchers. It contains nine chapters and reflects on the various aspects of Prime Minister Sen’s life, philosophy, beliefs and vision, and also the challenges, difficulties and hardships he faced.
His efforts and accomplishments in promoting peace in Asia and promoting peace, protecting lives and the traditions of Buddhism, and preserving culture in; promoting cultural exchange with; and ending hunger in Cambodia are all introduced in the book. Based on the philosophy of the UN Charter, he has dedicated himself to embracing humanity and has pursued diplomatic policies towards that end. This vision is also included in his biography.
So, the publication of this biography is very timely. It shows and proves that we can achieve peace and come together to pursue progress, development and peace and contribute to building a peaceful world. Once again, I would like to recommend this biography to all of you.
