Brazzaville, Congo - About 200 people attended a celebration of Africa Day on May 25 at the Hotel Phoenix in Brazzaville. The theme chosen by the African Union for this year's celebrations was "Peace and Security in Africa."
Speakers included the former 2nd Vice Secretary General of the African Union and a representative of the Director General of the United Nations system. Michel Ndolo, Secretary General of UPF-Congo, was the Master of Ceremonies, and the UPF-Congo Vice Chairman gave welcoming remarks.
At the close of the celebration, three new Ambassadors for Peace were appointed: a Member of Parliament, an advisor to the President of the National Assembly, and the representative of the Director General of the United Nations system.
Everything took place in an atmosphere of brotherhood, and people expressed an interest in working with UPF.
