‘Sense and Peace’ Anthology Presented at Literary Symposium

Buenos Aires, Argentina - UPF-Argentina’s anthology of poetry and art, Sense and Peace, was presented on Oct. 21, 2014, during the 40th International Literature Symposium organized by the Hispanic Cultural and Literary Institute (ILCH) at the Argentinian Society of Writers (SADE).
The panel of presenters consisted of Nélida Pessagno, SADE’s vice president; Graciela Licciardi, director of Enigma Editors; Miguel Werner, UPF-Argentina’s secretary general; and the writers Mabel Fontau, Nora Nardo and Luis Calvo. Other participants joined the panel afterwards: the Brazilian poet Marina Fagundes Coello, Marta Castagnino, Raquel Fernández, Cecilia Glanzmann, Graciela Pucheta and Horacio Semeraro.
The symposium, which was held in homage to Argentine writer Julio Cortázar and Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez. had as a motto “Towards the Union of the Hispanic World through Its Letters and Its Culture.” Dr. Juana Alcira Arancibia was its president and Ambassador Rubén Vela its vice president; the symposium was organized by Bertha Bilbao Richter, Graciela Bucci, Sebastián Jorgi and Cristina Pizarro.
The anthology, which was also presented in April at the Argentinian Society of Writers and at the 40th annual International Book Fair in Buenos Aires, includes poems from contests organized by UPF-Argentina from 2009 to 2013 and from contemporary poets selected by Enigma Editors. It also includes winning works from the drawing and painting contest organized by UPF-Argentina and Affinnerity in 2012 and from artists invited by Enigma Editors.
The symposium was supported by the Permanent Forum for Education, Science, and Culture for Peace.
