Niamey, Niger - A Culture of Peace and Character Education were the themes of a UPF conference in the Oumarou Ganda Cultural Center in December 12. Sixty guests attended the event, including the General Secretary of the Niger government, the third vice president of Niger ECOSOC (Economic, Social, and Cultural Council), the president of Niger Multi-Sectoral Regulation Authority, and Ambassadors for Peace
The master of ceremony, Secretary General of UPF-Niger Mr. David B. Kwete, asked the audience to stand and observe moment of silence in memory of first president of UPF-Niger, Minister Abdou Daouda, and H.E. Moumouni Adamou Djermaoky, who passed away this year. He invited the Vice President of UPF-Niger, Mr. Ali Sabo, to give the welcoming message. After his message, H.E. Abba Moussa Issoufou, Honorary President of UPF-Niger, opened the conference by introducing the Sub-Region 1 Director of UPF-Africa, Mr. Paterne Sosie Lin Zinsou, who presented the UPF flag to the government representatives and gave a PowerPoint presentation on a Culture of Peace and Character Education. This introduced the vision, mission, goals, and principles of the Universal Peace Federation, along with its character education programs and proposal to establish a Peace UN.
Guests were inspired and asked questions about how to be a member of UPF and what they needed to do to become an Ambassador for Peace. President Paterne answered all questions and ended his presentation by thanking the guests for their participation.
