Honoring a Legacy of Peace in Hong Kong

Hong Kong, People's Republic of China - On June 6, the Hong Kong UPF chapter held a “Legacy of Peace” meeting in commemoration of well-known international public figures, such as: Mr. Hédi Annabi, the UN mission head in Haiti who died during the earthquake; Mr. Kim Dae Jung, President of South Korea (1998 – 2003); Mr. Abdurrahman Wahid, President of Indonesia (1998 – 2000); and General Alexander Haig, former US Secretary of State.
China honorees were chosen among those who made a significant impact on the development of their society and nation: Mr. Henry Fock, Hong Kong businessman and public figure; Mr. Wong Fook Wing, a volunteer who died while helping victims of the earthquake in China; Dr. Chen Te, teacher at China University in Hong Kong; and Mr. Pun Tat Ming, a UPF volunteer.
