Riga, Latvia - The friends’ evening at Peace Embassy in Riga on March 26 was dedicated to World Poetry Day. Poems were read in Latvian, Russian, Lithuanian, Polish, French and Spanish. They promoted the eternal values of love, truth, goodness, beauty, peace and harmony.
In a warm atmosphere, the participants shared the heartfelt lines of renowned writers and poets and also their own works. Later on interesting contests followed, allowing every one to demonstrate his or her knowledge of local and international poetry.
In conclusion of the evening an excellent movie “Dead Poets’ Society” was shown. The theme of the movie touched everybody and made them reflect on the significance of every single moment in our life.
The Poetry Day turned to be a bright and positive experience that gave the participants lots of emotional and spiritual strength.
