Commemoration in Australia of Rev. Sun Myung Moon's Legacy

Sydney, Australia - A memorial service was held at the Oceania Peace Embassy building on Aug. 3, 2014, to commemorate the life and legacy of Rev. Sun Myung Moon, who passed away two years earlier. Throughout his life, Rev Moon dedicated himself to the ideals of true love, true family, and selfless service, as he worked tirelessly to bring down the barriers among religions, races, nationalities and cultures with the vision of “One Family under God.”

The event was organised by the Unification community in Sydney. The event’s master of ceremonies was Jynene Helland. Rev. Greg Stone delivered the opening address, followed by an opening prayer byMr. Alan Smith. A video depicting the life and legacy of Rev. Moon was shown. Following that, bouquets of flowers were presented. Two main speakers who testified about the life, work and the legacy of Rev. Moon were Mrs. Agnes Shim, president of the Sydney Korean Women’s Association, and Mr. Jon Soemarjono, president of the Indonesian community in New South Wales. A number of Ambassadors for Peace participated in this memorial service. There were reflections by Mr. Paul Saver from Queensland. This was followed by beautiful Korean cultural dance and musical presentations from the youth.

At the end, Rev. Soon Teck Lim delivered the closing remarks. After the main event, a Korean meal was served prepared by Korean women. This this moment was shared together as a community to remember this historic individual and encourage people to strengthen their resolve to work for a world of lasting peace and happiness.
