Buenos Aires, Argentina—UPF-Argentina was recognized with an “Honor Plaque” at the 2016 National Raíces Awards at the National Library in Buenos Aires on May 16. The awards honor individuals and organizations that have helped build Argentina and continue to build it through their work and service.
Winners of the award have included journalists, actors and musicians, among others. The award, which is a handmade wood sculpture of an indigenous person, was created by Ambassador for Peace Mr. Osvaldo García Napo, founder and coordinator of the Raices awards. Mr. Napo was recognized in 2015 by UPF-Argentina for his volunteerism and received a Universal Peace Flag from the Pacis Nuntii Movement.
