Ambassadors for Peace

Argentina Lecture Explores ‘Dignity’

Argentina-2017-06-14-Argentina Lecture Explores ‘Dignity’

Spanish

Buenos Aires, Argentina—“Dignity” was the focus of a talk UPF-Argentina’s Ambassadors Cycle program (1) hosted on June 14, 2017 at the Peace Embassy in Buenos Aires.

Mr. Bernardo Del Guercio, an educator and a counselor, was the speaker. He explored different aspects of dignity—sense, integrity, empathy, wisdom, courage, freedom and humor.  He used quotes, gave examples and told historical anecdotes in his talk, including a story about an antagonistic encounter between Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges, (who died on June 14, 1986), and the revolutionary Ernesto “Che” Guevara (who was born on June 14, 1928). The story stimulated discussion.

Before Mr. Del Guercio spoke, UPF-Argentina showed a video introducing UPF.

A video of the talk can be viewed at www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAadXfW1xEg.

(1) The Ambassadors Cycle is an initiative of UPF-Argentina that seeks to provide Ambassadors for Peace with the opportunity to share their experiences and expertise as well as to speak about the activities in which they are involved.
