Buenos Aires, Argentina—UPF-Argentina held an information meeting about local and global UPF initiatives, for Ambassadors for Peace, on June 22, 2017 at the Embassy for Peace in Buenos Aires.
During the meeting, Mr. Carlos Varga, director of UPF-Argentina, reported on the South American, Central American and Caribbean Leaders’ Assembly which took place in May in Korea. Several videos highlighting UPF co-Founder Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon’s vision on some peace initiatives, mission and commitment to live for the sake of others were shown.
Later, Mr. Miguel Werner, secretary-general of UPF-Argentina, talked about the UPF World Summit 2017 and the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) Global Assembly that took place in February in Korea (1). In addition, presentations were given on the Peace Road 2017: “Connecting the World through Peace” as well as on UPF-Argentina’s activities (2) and its plans for the second half of the year.
Some of the Ambassadors for Peace made proposals, and at the end of the event, a group of Japanese volunteers who recently came to Argentina to assist with different activities, sang two songs: “Aka Tombo” and “I Will Follow You.”
