MORE than 20,000 people are expected to gather in Bukit Jalil Stadium in the name of peace from October 17 to 19. They will be taking part in the Global Peace Festival 2008 during the three-day event. Jointly organized by the Universal Peace Federation Malaysia, the United Nations Association of Malaysia, and Pure Love & True Family Malaysia for World Peace, the event hopes to promote a vision of world peace through service to others, inter-religious harmony and healthy families. It provides a platform where participants can share their ideas and endeavors and create the opportunity to celebrate their achievements, develop partnerships and launch new initiatives together.
“We are proud to be selected as the host for the festival, which is one of the biggest international peace festivals," said the festival chairman, Tan Sri Zaleha Ismail, at a press briefing held at The Gardens Mid Valley recently. "It is an international initiative towards creating a 'One World Family.'”
