My conception is that freedom of religion is indivisible, and therefore I decided to start working as a volunteer for Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox organizations. There were difficult debates inside the concerned faith-based organizations before they decided to co-organize common defense actions. They were then probably less convinced by the concept of indivisibility of religious freedom than by the necessity to unite their efforts so that their voices could be better heard.

An International Conference on Interfaith Dialogue towards Global Peace at the Peace Embassy in Brussels, Belgium, unanimously passed a resolution entitled "Brussels Peace Declaration on Religious Coexistence" on December 1, 2007. Participants discussed the importance of interfaith harmony and conflict resolution to combat extremism, intolerance, hatred, and violence in the name of religion.
