To commemorate the start, on June 25th, 1950, of the fratricidal Korean War, and parallel to the 53rd session of the Human Rights Council, the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) is organizing together with the International Network for a Neutral Korea (INNK), a conference on achieving lasting peace through neutrality in the two Koreas as a way to enhance human rights in North Korea. Indeed, numerous cases of human rights violations in the DPRK have been reported to the Council, causing great concern in the international community. The purpose of this conference is to examine the steps towards a neutrality and the positive results of a Neutral Korean Peninsula in terms of human rights and security and to report it to the International Community.
