UPF-Russia Launches 1,350-km ‘Peace Road’ Run

Kazan, Russia—About 35 children and youth started running a super-marathon named “Children against Drugs—I Choose Sport!”
Carrying a banner with the Peace Road logo, they left Kazan, the capital of the Russian Republic of Tatarstan, on June 12, 2022. After running 1,350 kilometers (838 miles) through 23 cities, they were scheduled to end their run in Moscow on June 26.
The project was co-sponsored by UPF-Russia and its Peace Road initiative, as well as by several governmental and non-governmental organizations.
This year’s super-marathon was dedicated to the memory of Gen. A.N. Sergeyev and of E.A. Yakovlev, a doctor and marathon runner who was also an Ambassador for Peace.
The project is supported by:

- The Main Directorate for Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan;
- Union of Cyclists of the Republic of Tatarstan;
