Peace Tour Inaugurates UPF in Estonia
Saturday, October 22, 2005
Tallinn, Estonia - A standing-room only welcomed Dr. and Mrs. Sun Myung Moon to Estonia for the World Peace Tour. The attentive listeners included people who had come from nearby Latvia, Russia, and Finland – two hours away by a fast ferry across the Baltic Sea—and the more distant countries of Norway and Sweden.
Father Moon emphasized in his peace message his vision of a worldwide peace force of volunteers willing to travel all over the world, moving far away from their homes to defuse tensions and work for peace. “The Peace Force will be very mobile,” he said. Just as an individual must keep the correct body temperature or else they become sick and die, society also should not deviate from correct "temperature" regulated by universal law, which is the law of nature.
"In the same way, there must be a correct balance between human beings and the environment," he said. "No one can abuse the creation, for example by over-fishing or hunting. If the balance is broken then the peace force will be mobilized, to keep the right order, to keep balance between nature and human beings."
The event included an invitation for couples to join in a world peace blessing toast of marriage rededication.
