Indian Parliamentarians Examine COVID-19 Situation

New Delhi, India—UPF and the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) of India hosted a “Peace Talks” webinar on August 1, 2020, on the theme, “COVID-19 and Beyond: Challenges and Opportunities in a Changing World.” More than 390 people participated in the online event: 93 through Zoom and over 300 through Facebook Live.
Featured as speakers were seven current parliamentarians from India; Hon. Ek Nath Dhakal, chair of UPF- and IAPP-Asia Pacific; and Amb. K.V. Rajan, a retired diplomat and former member of the Indian Foreign Service and chairman of UPF-India.
The parliamentarians were Hon. Bhubaneswar Kalita, who is also the chairman of IAPP-South Asia; Hon. Tiruchi Siva; Hon. Dr. L. Hanumanthaiah; Hon. K. Somaprasad; Hon. Dr. Banda Prakash; Hon. K. Ravindra Kumar; and Hon. N. Gokulakrishnan.
