UPF-Russia Webinar Focuses on Saving Ecosystems

Moscow, Russia—The second webinar in a series held by UPF’s International Association of Academicians for Peace had about 46,000 views.
The "Science for Sustainable Development" series is dedicated to the United Nations’ World Science Day for Peace and Development, celebrated each year on November 10.
The IAAP webinar, held on November 7, 2022, also marked the debut of a new organization in Russia: the International Association of Scientists for Peace, which, as a global interdisciplinary academic initiative, aims to contribute to the achievement of lasting peace.
This webinar was dedicated to ecology. UN Sustainable Development Goal 14 is “Conserve marine ecosystems.” With his scientific work, the hero of this webinar makes a huge contribution to the implementation of this Sustainable Development Goal.
Dr. Sergey Ostroumov, a doctor of biology and a leading researcher at the Faculty of Biology of Lomonosov Moscow State University, is the author of a scientific discovery. He is a member of the editorial board of several scientific journals in Russia and in other countries. He also has authored scientific monographs, some of which have been translated into other languages.
Dr. Ostroumov spoke on the topic “Restoring the Health of Ecosystems (Including Marine Ones) and the Indispensable Role of the Biological Component of Ecosystems.” He was interviewed by UPF-Russia President Maria Nazarova.
