Moscow, Russia—“Responsibility of Mass Media and Contemporary Media in an Era of Global Upheavals” was the title of a conference held by the Russian branches of UPF and its constituent association International Media Association for Peace (IMAP).
About 30 people attended the April 9, 2021 meeting in the UPF Peace Embassy, with another 20 participating online. The meeting brought together journalists, social activists, bloggers and representatives of the film industry. The recording of the meeting has had approximately 1,900 views online.
The audience was addressed by:
Sergey Kuznetsov, the editor-in-chief of the Russian-language magazine Big Washington and founder of Moscow Public Television;
Olga Lesnova, a film producer in Russia and the United States, an actress, and the founder of Maze Films. She is also a jury member of the ArtKino and Bridge of Arts film festivals;
Konstantin Krylov, the secretary general of the Eastern Europe branch of UPF.
In addition, a short recorded message to the conference was shown, in which Jack Corley, the president of UPF for the Eastern Europe region, spoke about the UPF founders' vision for the media.
Following the presentations, Dmitry Samko, the chairman of the Moscow branch of UPF, presented Ambassador of Peace certificates to several prominent public figures, journalists, and artists.
