Korea-2023-05-31-UPF-Korea Holds 19th Forum for a Unified Korea

Seoul, Korea—UPF-Korea hosted the 19th UPF Forum for a Heavenly Unified Korea, featuring Chairman of The Washington Times Mr. Thomas McDevitt and the Times’ National Security Team Director Mr. Guy Taylor, which was streamed live on YouTube on May 31, 2023. The topic of the event was “U.S.-Korea-Japan Cooperation and Future Vision for a Heavenly Unified Korea.”

Mr. McDevitt, in his dialogue with UPF-Korea President Mr. Hyun Young Lee, highlighted the significance of the recent state visit by Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol to the United States and its impact on U.S. politics. He also urged UPF-Korea, as an international NGO, to prepare for the peaceful reunification of the Korean Peninsula through collaboration and exchanges with governmental bodies and media outlets.

In his remarks, Mr. Taylor underscored the necessity of U.S.-Korea-Japan cooperation for peace in Northeast Asia. He stressed the role each country should play to avert the crisis of a war precipitated by North Korea's nuclear threats and the Taiwan issue.
