Yekaterinburg, Russia - On October 24 in Yekaterinburg, the meeting of the UPF-Ural chapter representatives and "Sodruzhestvo" club members took place. The founder of the club is a Protestant, A.B. Patrakov. Among the members of Sodruzhestvo (Commonwealth) are people of different nationalities and religions who practice a unified system of spiritual and moral values of all cultures and religions transcending theological differences and interreligious strife. The UPF pursues the same objective.
The participants shared opinions on potential and role of religion and God-centered organizations for establishing harmonious relationships in the society as a guarantee of lasting peace. They discussed the possible formats of interreligious dialogue and cooperation. The leader of the Universal Peace Federation of Russia talked about UPF's international projects including the Middle East Peace Initiative and the proposal for an interreligious council at the UN.
The dialogue deepened mutual understanding of the participants and also gave them an opportunity to learn more about ideas and activities of different organizations. The participants expressed their firm intention to develop the dialogue and cooperation on various levels.
