Lusaka, Zambia - UPF-Zambia holds a one-day seminar for clergy each month. Participants in the interactive sessions include reverends, bishops, pastors, evangelists, and church leaders. The theme of the year 2010 is “Challenges of the Church in 21st Century.”

The clergy leadership conference on November 25 related to Biblical history and issues of leadership in the church, the community, and the nation. The PowerPoint lectures, drawing on the teachings of UPF Founder Rev. Sun Myung Moon, were given by UPF-Zambia Secretary General, Mr. Rudolf Faerber.

After each presentation, three discussion groups were formed, and one representative of each group reported on their discussions.

GROUP I, reported by Pastor Mumba Gift from the Redeemed Christian Church of God: According to this group, God created human beings to worship Him. The group criticized church leaders who don’t act with a parental heart.

GROUP II, reported by Pastor Sikwewa from the Bible Way Church: According to her group, the symbolic offering means respect and love. She also explained that leaders should be born again, good-natured, and humble.

GROUP III, reported by Pastor Chonyi Evans from Sufficient Grace Ministries: According to his group, leadership in the church is similar to that in the secular world. A leader is a teacher and should always be willing to learn more from others.
