Amsterdam, Netherlands -When discussing UPF's emphasis on the importance of interreligious cooperation, including a recent paper by Hans Campman on Interreligious Cooperation: An urgent necessity and great opportunity, Ambassador for Peace Sayed Taheri commented that he had been so inspired by how Christians had protected Muslims when they were at prayer in Tahrir Square in Cairo.
"I was so moved, everyone has so much respect for how they behaved. They surrounded the Muslims and in particular guarded the five entrances into the square. Afterwards, the Christians prayed, read from the Bible, and preached and the Muslims supported them. This is really interreligious cooperation in practice."

Taheri's brother had also been very moved by how Muslim and Christian symbols had appeared on banners together.
