Sharing an Iftar with Muslims in Stuttgart

While a gorgeous buffet of traditional Arabic was being prepared, we showed photos of recent UPF events, including the conference in Nigeria in July.
At 8:30, Mr. El Midani, former president of the Islamic Federation in Stuttgart, led us in a fast‐breaking ceremony with prayer and eating dates and drinking fresh water. Then everyone could taste the delicious food and thank and express appreciation for those who had prepared it. We discovered a taste for Arabic food.
After the meal, Mr. El Midani explained the meaning of the Ramadan fast, one of the five pillars of Islam, citing passages from the Qur'an.
With deep gratitude, we said farewell to our Muslim friends.
