Paris, France—The Dialogue & Alliance interfaith forum held its monthly meeting on the theme "Youth and Spiritual Awakening" on the occasion of World Children's Day.
Requests for online participation came from 21 countries (Algeria, Austria, Benin, Cameroon, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, France, Germany, Ghana, Haiti, Indonesia, Kosovo, Lebanon, North Macedonia, Mali, Mauritius, Senegal, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States).
A unique feature of the meeting on November 20, 2022, was that in several cities people gathered to watch the program together: the French cities of Lille, Lyon and Orsay, and the Swiss city of Geneva.
The moderator was Soraya Ayouch, member of the Dialogue & Alliance sponsoring committee.
The first reading, from the Buddhist scripture Anapanasati Sutta, Majjhima Nikâya, 118, was commented on by Daovy Ganserlat Pathoumaluangsy, president of the Lao Buddhist Association of Northern France.
The second reading, neo-Christian, "The Commitment of Confirmation," was read and commented on by Jean-Luc Martin-Lagardette, a journalist and founder of the Spiritual Diversity association.
As a short musical break, we played a music video by the duo Les Frangines of their song "Devenir quelqu'un.”
The third reading, taken from the Koran, Sura 46.15, was commented on by Dr. Tarik Abou Nour, imam, Hâfiz, Khatîb, a theologian and author of L'éducation des enfants entre l'islam & le contexte actuel.
The meeting concluded with a question-and-answer session moderated by Laurent Ladouce, a researcher at the Universal Peace Federation, and some closing words by Jean-François Moulinet, coordinator of Dialogue & Alliance.
