Rev. Mitch Dixon described the national UPF conference on strengthening family values to be held June 9 at the Toronto Don Valley Hotel. Almost 150 guests are expected from all over Canada. The keynote speaker is Hon. Inyumba Aloisea, Minister of Gender and Family Promotion from Rwanda. The guest speakers include Hon. David Kilgore, Hon. Jean Augustine, Rev. Darryl Gray, Chief Armand Labarge, Ms. Raheel Raza, and Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish.

Mr. Victor Martinez spoke on the topic of “God’s Providence.” He said that Almighty God created humans and provided a source of direction for life in this world through the commands in the holy books. Various Prophets were sent along with the holy books who sought to convey the truth about life regardless of the price exacted in the form rejection, harassment, and even loss of life. God has full control over every human but gives them the power of choice to choose their path and experience its consequences. God allowed religion as a source of guidance to humanity. Various religions have been inviting humans to God, and that is why the noble people of such religions have been exemplary people honored in all times. God supports the righteous people and encourages them do their job with motivation and resilience.

Victor Martinez quoted verses from the Qur’an, Gospel, Torah, Bhagavad Gita, and Buddhist Zoroastrian scriptures which describe how religion draws people towards the providence of God. All these scriptures appeal to people to live according to divine standards instead of according to the temporary pleasure of this world, which will vanish in the passage of time. God’s kingdom is permanent, and the providence of God is advanced through Godly people. Finally, he mentioned that Almighty God is compassionate and invites people to live in His image, as Jesus Christ gave the instruction to “Be perfect as your heavenly father is perfect.”
