Montreal, Canada - At a meeting held at Noor Al Islam Mosque in Montreal on March 18, 2013, UPF joined together with le Conseil de leaders religieux de Montreal-Nord – a borough level council of religious leaders dedicated to advising local government on matters of faith in the public arena. The meeting began with a presentation by Franco Famularo on the world wide efforts of UPF to establish interreligious council.
This was followed by Mrs. Isabelle Laurin, Secretary of the Conseil de leaders religieux de Montreal-Nord on the activities of the council over the past several years.
Members of the council, which included clergy of several denominations of Christianity and Islam, were proud to present how their collaboration has opened the spiritual dimension of life in their borough and benefited community leaders, families, and youth.
The council invites everyone to visit their website at www.clrmn.org (website is in French only) in the hope of stimulating other communities to develop similar initiatives.
