Central African Religious Leaders Urged to ‘Forgive, Love, Unite’

Bangui, Central African Republic—“Forgive, Love, Unite” was the theme of an interreligious meeting that was attended by more than 85 religious leaders.
The Central African Republic chapter of UPF, working together with the Platform of Central African Religious Confessions, held the meeting on May 2, 2015 in the Hotel Azimut in Bangui, the nation’s capital.
During this meeting the secretary general of UPF-CAR, Rev. Noel Mathias Salogba, read aloud a speech that originally was given in 1973 by UPF Founder Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon at the time of the Watergate crisis, urging the American people to “Forgive, love, unite.”
This was followed by a message from Mr. Ralph Oppenheimer, an advisor to UPF-CAR, urging the religious leaders to repent and unite in love and to speak with one voice at the Bangui National Forum, a reconciliation conference that was scheduled to be held from May 4 to 15.
Imam Umar Kobine Layama, the president of the Central Islamic Community and also the president of the Platform of Central African Religious Confessions, thanked UPF-CAR for organizing this meeting in order to help religious representatives at the Bangui National Forum. He also apologized to the Islamic KM5 neighborhood with whom the dialogue was difficult.
Expressions of heart by religious leaders over the organization of the pre-forum meeting were very positive. They hoped that UPF would continue this interreligious dialogue in order to stabilize peace in Central Africa.
The meeting ended with the religious leaders holding hands in a circle around the meeting room and offering an interfaith prayer.

Réunion Inter religieuse en perspective du forum de réconciliation en Centrafrique

En prélude du Forum de Bangui, la FPU/Chapitre RCA a organisé avec la Plateforme des Confessions Religieuses en Centrafrique une rencontre interreligieuse entre les leaders musulmans et les leaders d’autres confessions religieuses le samedi 02 mai 2015 à Bangui/RCA dans la salle de conférence de l’hôtel Azimut.
Le thème principal de cette rencontre était : Pardonner-Aimer-Unir.
Plus de 85 leaders Religieux ont participés à cette grande réunion.
Pendant cette rencontre, le Secrétaire Général de la FPU/Chapitre RCA Noël Mathias SALOGBA a lu le discours que notre Vrai Père avait prononcé lors de la crise de Watergate en 1973. Cette lecture a été suivie par le message du Ralph Oppenheimer exhortant les leaders religieux Centrafricains au repentir et à l’unité dans l’amour et de parler d’une même voix au prochain forum de réconciliation.
En prenant la parole, l’Imam Oumar Kobine Layama, Président de la Communauté Islamique Centrafricaine (CICA) et Président de la Plateforme des leaders religieux a remercié la FPU/CA d’avoir organisé cette rencontre en vue d’aider les représentants religieux au forum de Bangui. Dans son allocution, Il a également demandé pardon à la communauté Islamique du quartier Km5 avec qui le dialogue était difficile.
Les expressions de cœur des leaders religieux par rapport à l’organisation du pré Forum de la FPU ont été très positives. Ils ont souhaité que la FPU continue ce dialogue interreligieux dans le but de stabiliser la Paix en Centrafrique.
Cette réunion a été clôturée par une Prière interreligieuse par les leaders religieux qui étaient présents à cette rencontre en formant une chaine.
