Bangkok, Thailand—Fifty-two people from 12 nations attended UPF’s Asian Leadership Conference (ALC), “Providing Vision and Leadership for Nation-Building and Peace,” from October 6 to 9, 2017 in Thailand.
Among the attendees were 10 current members of parliament (MPs), two former MPs, one governor, seven deputy governors, six government officers, three senior academics, two business leaders and one religious leader.
One MP from Bangladesh who attended a previous ALC liked the content presented in the conference so much that she attended a second time (this time) and brought her family with her. In another case, one MP from Bhutan who attended the last ALC brought two new MPs to attend this program.
The four-day conference concluded with an Interfaith Peace Blessing Festival, which seven couples attended.
