Bratislava, Slovakia—The facilities of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church in Bratislava were the site of a profound report about the UPF World Summit in Korea.
As the meeting of April 9, 2019, was titled “Interreligious Dialogue – Religions, Faiths and Their Responsibility for Peace,” the guests came from various religious backgrounds.
To begin, Bishop Jan Hradil welcomed the guests with a message quoting the Bible. Next UPF-Slovakia Secretary General Milos Klas introduced the two guest speakers who had come from Prague.
Pastor Mikulas Vymetal from the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren had been a speaker at the Interreligious Association for Peace and Development (IAPD) session of the World Summit in Seoul. He described his personal impressions from interactions with leaders from around the world and the general program, all very comprehensive and witty.
His account was complemented with some additions from Dr. Juraj Lajda, the leader of UPF for the Czech Republic. Dr. Lajda also spoke about the World Scripture study meetings that have been held recently in Prague. Both speakers delighted the audience with their lively reports.
Finally, a lively discussion evolved among the more than 30 listeners and the speakers. At the end, everyone received a copy of the recent UPF Europe Newsletter.
