Lisbon, Portugal—UPF was invited by the Tocoist Church of Portugal to report to its community about the Africa Summit in São Tomé and Príncipe.
Bishop Paulo Pedro from the Tocoist Church in Luanda, Angola, was also a guest at the Sunday service of October 13, 2019.
The testimony about the summit in São Tomé in the first week of September was of utmost significance because of the participation of His Holiness Bishop Afonso Nunes, the world head of the Tocoist Church, together with a delegation of 70 Tocoist members.
Bishop Afonso Nunes was invited to offer his prayer at two important moments of the event, and he was introduced to the Portuguese deputy Dr. Hilda Araújo. On the last day of the summit, the UPF-Portugal secretary was invited to participate in the morning service and to share lunch with His Holiness. On that occasion she asked him to officially invite Mother Moon to Angola with the support of the Angolan government.
All of this was reported during our testimony at the Sunday service. Along with the spoken words, a series of photos were displayed to illustrate the event.
During his sermon, Rev. António Simão Vemba, the leader of the Tocoist Church in Portugal, expressed his appreciation for our testimony and voiced his desire to visit UPF.
Afterward Bishop Paulo Pedro and Rev. Vemba reiterated their desire to work together to realize UPF’s vision of “One Family under God.”
