Paris, France—“Encountering God in the Scriptures” was the title of an interfaith meeting held by UPF.
The 75 persons who registered for the online meeting on March 7, 2021, were not only from France but also from Switzerland, Italy, Mali, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Burkina Faso.
Before the meeting started, we sent the participants a few texts on the topic of encountering God. These texts were drawn from the Hebrew Bible, the New Testament, and the Quran.
During the meeting, these sacred texts were read aloud, and we invited representatives of different religions to give their comments:
Rabbi Joseph Abittan from Nice, who sent us a video from Jerusalem;
Soraya Ayouch, a member of the Fondation Al Moultaqa, Tarika Kadiria Boutchichya;
Father Daniel Foucher, a Catholic priest from Nantes;
Jean-François Moulinet, the vice president of UPF-France.
Didier Guignard offered a performance of the song “Le feu de ton amour.”
The meeting closed with a 20-minute group discussion.
