Madrid Marriage & Family Forum: The Mature Character

Madrid, Spain - UPF's second seminar on Marriage and Family focused how to educate young people and adults to develop the maturity of character necessary for building a successful marriage and family. Two Catholic educators were the featured speakers at the February 21 event.
The Unificationist Chorus for Peace opened the event by singing “Far Beyond. The first speaker was a Catholic priest from the Dominican Order, Father Dr. Nicoleto Blázquez. A medical psychologist and university professor, he gave a very well-developed presentation. "A mature character brings so much goodness into relationships,” he said.
The second speaker was a Catholic missionary from the Idente Order, Sister Dr. M.ª Fernanda Lacilla Ramas, who holds a doctorate in philosophy. She teaches high school and theology in Getafe. Her presentation was very profound and spiritual, giving a lot content about the spiritual and emotional components of maturity. A balanced education helps people avoid conflict and experience a beautiful and prosperous life.
A toast for peace and marriage concluded the presentations. The National Director of UPF-Spain, Armando Lozano Hernández, talked about the Ambassadors for Peace initiative, followed by a song by the chorus entitled "Dream."
Awards were presented to parents of of six children and to an international married couple who have been married for 33 years. After they received their awards they shared some insights they have gained over the years.
Closing remarks were given by Manuel Campillo, a UPF family counselor. His short talk conveyed the presence of the Holy Spirit and gave a lot inspiration to the audience. He spoke about the the impact of a three-generation legacy on individuals.
Over refreshments, members of the audience engaged in conversation with the presenters and asked many questions.
