St. Petersburg, Russia - UPF representative Tatyana Krasnosumova gave a lesson about the “Family as a School of Love” on March 18, 2014 to students at school No. 609 in the Krasnogvardeisky district of St. Petersburg.
The children learned ways that the family can influence the formation of one’s character. Some of the examples given were communication between children and parents, reading books together, going to the cinema and theater and ski outings. Personal relationships are strengthened through family traditions such as holidays, birthdays and trips.
Then the children got acquainted with UPF’s teaching about the four levels of love through which ideally every member of the family should experience: love of children to parents, love between siblings, love between husband and wife, and love of parents to children. It is important to go through these levels to experience dimensions of happiness in the family.
The meeting ended with a symbolic construction of a house for a happy family. The foundation of the house is love, the walls - family relationships, and the roof - family traditions. The windows symbolize the mother who pays more attention to intra-family relations, and the door symbolizes the father connecting the family and the world.
Tatiana expressed her desire for all the participants in the lesson to create happy families!
