Moscow, Russia - UPF-Moscow together with the Women’s Federation for World Peace held a conference on April 12, 2014, on "The Family as the Foundation of Social Stability in an Era of Global Crisis." The event was the second of a series of UPF programs in April that supported family values. Among the guests and speakers were representatives of different cultures, arts, science, government, youth organizations and social activists.
The wonderful actress and Honored Worker of Culture and Arts of Russia, Kosminskaya Natalia opened the meeting with the song "In My House."
The Honored Scientist of Russia, professor, laureate of national and international awards in the field of science, health, education and culture, Jacob Z. Mesenzhnik, addressed the participants of the meeting, praising the value and the role of the family.
In response to the current challenges, when the traditional family that has proved its superiority and cogency throughout thousands of years is forced to the background by alternative forms of gender relations, there is a growing number of small and large associations that support of morality and ethics.
The chairperson of the Moscow City Coordinating Women’s Council, Olga Kuznetsova, shared about the activity of one of these organizations. Currently there are more than 100 women's councils functioning in the capital. These groups focus on the development and implementation of urban social programs; the gender expertise and active participation of women in these programs; and provision of social, legal and other assistance to various segments of the population. The primary task of all women's councils remains the spiritual and moral support of family values and culture of the Russian Federation, teaching a high sense of responsibility and building capacity to overcome life's difficulties. They give hope and render assistance as well as teach dedication, a sense of duty, love for their city and devotion to the motherland.
Valentina Y. Orlova, president of the Russia-Norway Society, shared enthusiastically about the family traditions in Norway.
Very interesting presentations were given by Valentina Vladislavleva, producer, director and board member of the Central House of Arts; and Olga Vakulinskaya, president of the Women’s Federation for World Peace-Eurasia.
Of great interest was the report of the Secretary General of UPF-Eurasia Konstantin V. Krylov. In his speech "The Family as a School of Love," he said, "Only with the help of strong, healthy families with high morals and standards can we create a society and world that is stable and healthy society. The quickest, most effective and reliable way to achieve peace in the world is to establish and strengthen families."
The conclusion of the conference was the message of the vice president of the club "Towards a Better World" and head of the literary section of the theater "Awareness," Sergei V. Dvoryanov, who summed up the conference.
All participants of the event value the family as the foundation for traditional values, a place where forgiveness and reconciliation, peace and harmony in human relationships are achieved, where dreams are born and implemented. Each family can make an important contribution to global peace. Families with father, mother and children exemplifying high moral values can be spiritual strongholds and guarantors of a successful and healthy future for civilization.
