Hanover, Germany—UPF members took part in a rally centering on a “Freedom of Speech” bus that is traveling throughout Germany to promote traditional marriage and family.
The bright orange bus, painted with pro-family slogans, arrived in the northern German city of Hanover on September 13, 2017.
The bus belongs to a fearless minority called CitizenGo, whose members are making a statement upholding a natural family model. And it is astonishing just how much opposition they are encountering.
A conversation with a pro-family demonstrator brought my general knowledge about the new “gender education” in schools up to date with concrete examples: In nursery schools, a book is being used in which a snail says to a boy and a girl that they also can be bisexual, just like the snail! And in schoolbooks used in the third year there are calculation tasks such as: “Willi and Heinz want to get married. How many cakes do they need for 10 guests if each guest eats two pieces?” The perfidious way in which the message is hidden in this exercise surprised me and proves just how far this ideology has found its way into our schools, due to a lack of vigilance.
We (Olaf, Detlef, Gabi, Christina Richter and I) all had interesting discussions with the pro-family demonstrators and even with those representing the opposing viewpoints.
Thanks to the police, the usual “musical accompaniment” of the opposition was kept within limits.
