Maseru, Lesotho - We traveled to Lesotho from May 23 to June 10 to meet with Ambassadors for Peace, connect them with international developments of UPF, and explore the possibility of establishing a Peace Embassy in Maseru.
We spent time with UPF Secretary General Lesotho Darkwell Sakala and his wife Florence. We met with a United Methodist minister who attended an International Leadership Conference in 2009. He offered to host a gathering of Ambassadors for Peace. At that meeting, Hon. Moses Moeno, a member of Parliament and chair of UPF-Lesotho, talked about attending an International Leadership Conference in Korea that gave him new inspiration to help build an Ambassadors for Peace network in Lesotho.
Another Ambassadors for Peace meeting took place the Hotel Victoria the day before our departure. We were moved that government officials took time out of their busy schedule to meet with us. A member of Parliament said that help would be available in obtaining land for a Peace Embassy.
