Moscow, Russia - A meeting of Ambassadors for Peace on “New plans for UPF and review of the current year programs” took place on September 3. During the program, UPF-Eurasia Chair Eiji Tokuno and Secretary General Jacques Marion each spoke. They gave reviews of the events and peace initiatives of UPF in the current year, emphasizing success of the peace initiatives in the South Caucasus, Baltic Dialogue, and other events.

Other speakers included the former Human Rights Ombudsman of Russia Professor Oleg Mironov, honored worker of science Yakov Mesemzhnik, vice-president of the Intergovernmental Association of Hero-cities Nadezhda Vlasova, and professor Andrey Volkov. In their speeches before the Ambassadors for Peace they outlined strategically important projects and shared the results of their activities.
Our congratulations to the coordinator of international programs of the Youth Association of Russia, Xenia Faresova, on her appointment as “Youth Ambassador for Peace.” We wish her further advances in developing the culture of peace and volunteerism in Russia.
