Ambassadors for Peace

US Navy Veteran Speaks at Seattle Meeting

Seattle, United States—Twenty-six Ambassadors for Peace and guests gathered at the Windermere House in Seattle on April 23, 2015 to hear a speaker, network, and share an excellent meal together.

Mr. Ray McCready, secretary general, Ambassadors for Peace in Washington State, shared some updates on the Ambassadors for Peace Association Washington State. He introduced the UPF-USA website, its main sections, and how to navigate through it. He also talked about the history of their programs and calendar of activities for 2015.

Mr. McCready then invited a new guest, US Navy veteran Mr. Roosevelt Ward. Mr. Ward, who has worked as a National Veterans Service Officer providing help and benefits assistance to veterans for the past twelve years, was presented with a “Thank You Medal” for his service to our country.

He spoke briefly about his service, and was gratified by the recognition.  He then pledged to continue his efforts for veterans.

Following Mr. Ward’s appointment as an Ambassador for Peace, Mr. McCready introduced the main speaker for the evening, Mr. Alfredo (Tito) Medina, who works as a Veteran Affairs Accredited Agent. Mr. Medina spoke about service to veterans, as well as the upcoming Veterans Resource Fair, an annual event that showcases resources and services for veterans, at the Tacoma Dome on May 30.

At the conclusion of the dinner, all the attendees gathered for photos.
