Paraguayan Leaders Participate in UPF Event

Paraguay-2016-03-01-Paraguayan Leaders Participate in UPF Event

Asunción, Paraguay—UPF and the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) in Paraguay co-organized an event at the Sheraton Hotel on March 1, 2016.

More than 125 people attended the one-day program, including a former head of state and leaders and representatives from government; academia; and the nonprofit sector. Among the guests were former President of Paraguay, Dr. Federico Franco Gómez; former first lady and current senator, Mrs. Emilia Alfaro de Franco; the dean of the University of San Sebastián, Dr. Fulgencio Samudio Ozuna; Rev. Escurra, director of Pablo Avila College; Dr. Susana Barua, deputy minister of the Ministry of Agriculture; Dr. Blas Oddone, an expert on international trade and agricultural production; and the plenipotentiary consul of the Embassy of Peru in Asunción.

The main speakers were Dr. Chang Shik Yang, a representative of UPF, and Deputy Mr. José Domingo Adorno Mazacotte

Eight new Ambassadors for Peace were appointed, including Mr. Mazacotte

A musical performance was offered by opera singer Gloria del Paraguay.
