Lima, Peru—Earlier this year, a group of Ambassadors for Peace from Korea visited Peru to learn more about its history and culture. They brought with them a donation of clothing from the Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP)-Korea, an affiliated organization.
On August 26, 2016, UPF-Peru and WFWP-Peru visited the school Manuel Gonzales Prada in Huaycan, one of the poorest districts in Lima, and, in coordination with the school director, Mrs. Victoria, presented shirts to 55 of the students. The director signed an official document recognizing the donation that was made and, Mr. Jaime Fernandez, a coordinator of UPF-Peru, spoke to the students about UPF’s vision of peace through the building of strong, healthy families.
Mrs. Faith Jones, president of WFWP-Peru, personally gave each student their new shirt.
Ambassador for Peace Prof. Antonio Delgadillo arranged the event.
The teachers and students expressed their appreciation for the donation, and they were invited to participate in future seminars on family values organized by the UPF and WFWP.
