Australians Discuss ‘Religions as Peacebuilders’

Sydney, Australia—Representatives of four religions spoke on “Religions as Peacebuilders” at the latest Ambassadors for Peace meeting.
Some 40 Ambassadors for Peace, UPF supporters, members and guests attended the meeting which was held on March 6, 2017, at the Oceania Peace Embassy. Emcee Jynene Helland welcomed the participants to the bimonthly gathering.
After the screening of a UPF introductory video, representatives of four religions gave thought-provoking, informative and warmly received presentations on the theme of “Religions as Peacebuilders” The four speakers were Nith and Ramphay Chittasy (Buddhism), Steff Fenton (Christianity), Jasbeer Musthafa (Islam) and Greg Stone (Unificationism).
A new Ambassador for Peace, Saadi Askharia, was appointed. After the final announcements, the meeting fittingly concluded with the assembly holding hands in a circle around the meeting hall and singing “Let There Be Peace on Earth.”
The evening, as usual, was an enjoyable and enlightening experience for all who attended. It included the sharing of food and good company with like-minded people of goodwill irrespective of background, ethnicity and religion.
