Managua, Nicaragua—Ambassadors for Peace in Nicaragua attended a “Vision for Peace” seminar organized by UPF and the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP), on August 4, 2017, at the Elements Hotel Boutique in Managua, the capital of Nicaragua.
Forty-three people participated in the one-day event, which opened with a prayer, offered by the Dr. Jerjes Ruiz, who is a dean of the Universidad Politecnica de Nicaragua (Polytechnic University of Nicaragua) and a pastor of a Baptist church.
IAPP-Nicaragua president and Central American Parliament (PARLACEN) congressman, Hon. Guillermo Osorno, gave the welcoming remarks. He spoke about his experiences with UPF and the IAPP and encouraged the attendees to actively participate in UPF’s peace initiatives.
UPF-Nicaragua representative, Rev. Jorge de Oliveira, gave a presentation on “Vision for Peace, One Family Under God.”
UPF-Nicaragua president and former member of the National Assembly of Nicaragua, Mr. Agustin Jarquin Anaya, spoke on “The Role of Leaders in a Challenging Society.”
Two other presentations, “Spiritual Values for Peace” and “The Cause of Conflicts,” were given by Rev. de Oliveira.
