Czech-2018-08-08-Principles as a Solution to the World’s Problems

Prague, Czech Republic—The Czech chapter of UPF invited its Ambassadors for Peace to a seminar on the founder’s teachings.

Designed as a follow-up to previous lectures on the life of UPF co-founder Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, the seminar titled “Unification Principle (Counterproposal to Current Problems)” was held in the Prague Peace Embassy on August 8, 2018.

The invitation letter explained that we are living in a turbulent time and are faced with new challenges and unexpected situations. The traditional paradigms of solving problems are insufficient, and the present value system is breaking down. Moreover, climate change and devastation of nature, together with the breakdown of families, threaten the very essence of human life. Many people speak about the end of the world. Is there any solution? Can the ideas, thoughts and visions of the Rev. Moon bring new hope for solving the challenges of today?

The seminar was divided into three 50-minute lectures. Four guests participated.

The first lecture, “The Principle of Creation,” was delivered by Dr. Petr Dvornický. He explained the universal principles of life, such as the dual characteristics of God, God’s heart, give-and-take action, the purpose of creation, the growth period, and the spiritual and physical dimensions of human life.

The second lecture was “The Hidden Dimension of History, Part 1 – Interpretations of Biblical Stories.” Mag. Martin Slezák introduced the Human Fall and spoke about Adam’s family, Noah’s family and Abraham’s family. The conclusion was the story of Jacob and Esau’s unification, presented as the model for the unification of the world.

The last lecture, “The Hidden Dimension of History, Part 2 – Historical Parallels,” was delivered by Dr. Juraj Lajda, the president of the Czech chapter of UPF. He compared the 2,000 years before Jesus with the 2,000 years after Jesus. Finally he concluded with the words of Rev. Moon, that the future world will be based on a culture of heart, mutual prosperity, interdependence and universally shared values.

In the discussion that followed, the participants said they appreciated the content of the seminar as useful, and some said that they have to implement these ideas into their own thought framework.

This was the first seminar of this kind for Ambassadors for Peace in many years, and we will hold more of these seminars in the future.
