Montreal, Canada—The Montreal chapter of UPF-Canada held a breakfast meeting on “Family and Buildings” at the national chapter’s headquarters in the city on March 12, 2019 with 15 guests in attendance.
The meeting opened with Mr. Franco Famularo, president of UPF-Canada, giving a report on UPF’s World Summit 2019, which took place in Seoul, Korea from February 7 to 10.
Following this, Mr. Jocelyn Perron spoke of how from his early childhood through to adulthood and his long career in architecture, he always understood the link that exists between the environment and the individuals who inhabit it. His core approach to architecture has always been that the environment is a garment, a tailor-made tool that closely participates in the life of the individual, from birth to death, and affects his/her relationship with others, first within the family (a microcosm of the world) and then the world at large (the macrocosm).
The meeting was greatly appreciated by all the participants and reinforced the important idea that when we invest in all aspects of the environment, we invest in the well-being of society.
